Fourth Air Force (Hamilton Field) reported that Mr. Les Buchner of Bakersfield, California observed two objects falling to earth from unknown source on March 5, 1948 between 1610 and 1655 hours, toward Buena Vista Lake. On March 8, 1948, Mr. Denio (Pacific General Electric Company employee) reported two objects falling north of Bakersfield, one appearing to be on fire with red and black smoke. Searching parties and aircraft found no trace of the objects.
