Silver half-moon disc with 90-degree turn — Philippines, April 1948
Lt. Myers (identified by rank, full name partially OCR-degraded) sighted an unidentified object at approximately 1,000 ft from his aircraft during a period of clear visibility with scattered cumulus cloud base at 3,000 ft. The object, described as a half-moon or donut shape approximately 30 ft in span and silver in color, executed a 90-degree left turn, leveled on a heading of 245°, rapidly accelerated, and disappeared from sight in approximately five seconds with no sound or exhaust. The observer attempted interception but could not close. Interviewed witness was assessed as reliable.
