Transparent kite-shaped object floating near earlier sighting location — Western US, pre-dawn
Approximately 30 minutes after the 'Dark Kite' sighting, USPER5, USPER6, and a third agent (USPER7) returned to the same general area in response to a report of another unauthorized object. Two agents (USPER5 and USPER6) observed a kite-shaped object with a similar lighting pattern to the earlier sighting, approximately 6 meters (~20 feet) off the ground and canted at an angle from lower-right to upper-left, floating slowly in the apparent wind direction. USPER5, using NVGs, noted being able to 'vaguely see a bright star or two in the distance through the object, though somewhat more faint,' suggesting partial transparency. A spotlight aimed at the object's apparent location appeared to stop projecting into the distance briefly before resuming, which the witness interpreted as possible occlusion by the object. USPER7 did not see the object. The team was unable to reacquire sight of it.
“'vaguely see a bright star or two in the distance through the object, though somewhat more faint'; 'at one point my beam went from shining far into the distance to stopping about 50 yards away on nothing in particular, it just was not projecting into the distance and then it was'”
The 'transparency' observation (stars visible through the object) and the spotlight occlusion episode are notable but rest solely on single-witness NVG and naked-eye observation at night. USPER7, also present, did not observe the object, which limits corroboration. The 6-meter altitude is stated in the document. Spotlight behavior is ambiguous and could have mundane explanations. No sensor data beyond eyewitness and NVG. Incident date not provided. Confidence is moderately reduced by the non-confirmation from one of three present observers.
